Presidio® Fungicide Overview

Protection for Multiple Crops

  • In vegetables, Presidio stops Phytophthora—including late blight and root, crown, and fruit rots.
  • In vegetables, Presidio works on contact and inside the leaf to stop downy mildew.
  • In cucurbits, Presidio provides effective Pythium control.
  • In tobacco, Presidio protects against Phytophthora (black shank) and treats blue mold.

New Mode of Action, No Cross-resistance

  • Contains fluopicolide—acylpicolide chemistry in FRAC Group 43.
  • Arms growers with a new mode of action against downy mildew and Phytophthora diseases.
  • Delivers preventive and some curative reachback action.
    • In preventive mode, Presidio:
      • Stops fungal Phytophthora zoospores almost on contact. Just minutes after contact with fluopicolide, the zoospores swell and explode.
      • Disturbs the germ tube integrity to prevent new infections.
    • In curative reachback mode, Presidio:
      • Inhibits disease mycelial growth and sporulation.
      • Treats blue mold, including mefenoxam-resistant strains.

Systemic and Translaminar Protection

  • Extremely effective: moves with systemic and translaminar action in plants.
  • Highly active in the soil: quickly moves up the plant’s roots, into its xylem and through the leaves. It begins fighting disease immediately.
  • Excellent translaminar activity: better protection for each treated leaf.
  • Not phloem mobile: does not move out of a treated leaf to those above and below. Even with vines, treatment of an immature bud protects the resulting leaf from infection.

For best results, always apply Presidio preventively (prior to infection or disease development). This practice helps manage infections and the development of resistance.
